Red Dot Open Text Web Site Management – revised

If you have never used RedDot prior to this, you need to check if the system you are being asked to maintain still uses it.  In the spring of 2014, RedDot is being replaced by a new content management system (CMS).

If you are tasked with working in the Reddot system to maintain a web page.  Start here to login:

http://reddot10.unmc.edu/cms/ioRD.asp?Action=ShowLoginMask&LngId=ENG

Bookmark this page before you actually log in to save time on your next visit

Now is a great time to read the reddot manual….  Ok, still there?

To get to a page and modify it,  Choose the Smart Edit tab near the top, second from the left.  The browse the site in the main window until you get to the page you need to edit.

Then for that page, look for the little reddot that says open to edit.  Then again, the one that says edit text.  You should now be in a window that lets you change the actual page.

When you are done, choose Save and then OK.  The window will close.  You’re not done.  Right-click the page and choose Submit to Workflow.

Once you’ve done that the page can be reviewed and accepted or rejected, etcetera.  Please let me know when you submit a page to workflow, so I can be sure it gets taken care of in a timely manner.

Thanks
